Experience - Fulltime

After graduating in 1993 from Cumbria College of Art and Design I decided to progress my career in Hong Kong where I stayed for eight years working for internationally recognised agencies such as O&M, Euro RSCG Ball Partnership, Bates, Tommy Lee Design picking up some highly acclaimed design awards on the way.

Upon returning to the UK in June 2001 and with a record of success, I secured a full time role as a Senior Designer for TBWA/GGT (Tequila London) for clients such as Abbey, Pru, Unicef, Vauxhall and Marks & Spencers creating and designing award winning work.

With significant UK experience, I was able to expand my horizons by working in a freelance capacity with some of London's top agencies, including TMW (Tullo Marshall Warren), WCRS (JWT) and a 18 months contract working on the sought after and highly awarded McDonald's Happy Meal business at The Marketing Store Worldwide.

In March 2008 I was head-hunted by Global Agency Leo Burnett to work as a Senior Designer for their up and coming Integrated Marketing Services business Arc Worldwide where I have worked across global brands such as Kraft, Phillip Morris International and Coca Cola Enterprises and UK retail leaders such as Morrisons and HBOS.

After many years of full time employment and freelancing (both seeing and using (freelancers) I realize that there is a huge gap in the market for creative designers who can offer great design and art direction to produce highly creative commercial solutions for clients great or small. Therefore, I decided to make the big leap to be my own boss and fill this gap in the market.

Refreshing, generating new products and advertisements for in-house brands such as Pregnacare, Pregnacream, Wellman, Dextoil, and Osteocare. Liaising with third parties (printers, photographers Mac operators etc) through to final production

of artwork.

PPA Design (WPP) – Hong Kong

Senior Designer

November 1997 to August 2001.

Managed the design studio, responsibilities are creative direction of all design work, from initial design brief to designing the job and liaising with third parties (printers, photographers, illustrators, web developers etc) through to final production of artwork. Type of work produced has ranged from simple identities and literature to full blown high profile campaigns, corporate identity, brand development, brochures, reports and web site etc. In addition to this, I was also responsible for heading up junior teams on larger projects.
